For the second time the entry for the Picauville Friendship Nat has exceeded 1,000 birds, race marking was in Lisburn on Tuesday. Birds are en route to France on the hired transporter from Wigan, liberation is expected on Friday 10th July. All the news will be listed here, liberation, early arrivals and result. Those with early arrivals should contact PO Willie Reynolds with bird details to be carried in the official race report.

LIBERATION: The birds have been released Friday 10th July at 6.00am in Picauville for the Friendship Nat, the final old bird race of 2009. Just 8 day birds were confirmed from Picauville and with good conditions in the early part of Saturday more birds should be recorded, although down the country was not as good. On the first day the race closed at 22.50hrs to re-open Saturday at 4.50am. Second day arrivals should be reported to Ivan Mawhinney for Banbridge, Mervyn Gibson for Lisburn and Bobby Bethel for Muckamore. Contact numbers above. At 10.00pm Saturday 18 birds had been confirmed in Ireland, in late evening the conditions were poor. Birds on Sunday should be reported as per usual, contact numbers for Northern Ireland above.
