Latest Update is that the probable winner of Skibbereen YB Nat is Davy Hutchinson from Ashfield recording velocity 1556, two yards clear from the Donnelly Bros of Newry City who won 1st Open INFC Penzance and 2nd Open NIPA Rosscarbery in the last 10 days. Liberation in Skibbereen was confirmed as 11.30am on Friday 18th September, wind at release Light & Variable. 411 members sent 3,118 birds competing for £16,969 in pools and prizes. Former winner of the race Danny Dixon had a fantastic card with eight birds in good time making it look very easy, he takes the top four places in the Mid Antrim Combine with the winner timed at 16.48hrs recording velocity 1476 for the 266 miles. This new introduction from Belgium is getting results, the winner was the nest-mate of the bird that took 19th Open in the recent Emerald Classic and his second bird was a full sister from the first nest. Gary Gibson had 1st Cullybackey (1439) this bird won Rosscarbery, A & N Young 1st Ahoghill (1438) and Robert & Paul Alexander 1st Harryville (1371).

It was like old times with a big East Antrim result in the YB Skibbereen, a super performance from A & N Lewis of Doagh & Dist to be best in the Muckamore Centre and a good 7th Open INFC. Looking back to the OB Skibbereen the Lewis team were best again in Muckamore and on that occasion 4th Open INFC. They should be well placed for the Charles Hunniford Memorial Trophy for Best Ave both races in the North Sect, mind you under big pressure from John Patterson who won the trophy last year. The D & J Armstrong team from Carrickfergus were next best followed by the top two in Larne, Baxter & Holden and former winners G K & I Moxham. Bingham & Seaton were well placed for Ligoniel in Belfast as were Mr & Mrs McNeilly from Doagh and Campbell & Bigger from Glengormley, both lofts having an outstanding season, and both topping the NIPA. Mr & Mrs George Robinson dominated the season in both Carrick clubs, Robert McMeekin had another top season in Kingsmoss and F Simpson of Doagh has appeared in the top results.
