East Antrim Amalgamation
Dunmanway Y/B Derby 13/9/25
As the curtain came down on the final race of the season from Dunmanway it was still all to play for
at the top of the y/b fancier chart!
Landing the big fish this week finishing 1st & 2nd EAA 1st & 3rd Section c 7th & 19th open NIPA is
the young bird dream team of Gary McKenna & Grandson Riley!
These guys for the last two years have just been too hot to handle scooping the y/b EAA fancier of
the year award two years on the bounce now, with some heavy hitting results over the last month!
Gary modest as ever just laughs and says “aye they are coming well” no bells or whistles just a super
fancier!
The winning pigeon this week has now added to her tally and is a double section & EAA winner, she
was bought from Robert Rea in a charity sale and hasn’t disappointed!
Her breeding from Rab contains no less that 3 open winners & a national winner on the sire’s side.
On the Dams side there are x5 sections winners including G&C Simmons of the birches No 1 hen
“Heather” who is responsible for multiple prize winners!
Gary & Riley are over the moon the way the pigeons have raced for them, but credit where it’s due
to these two chaps, top work from them getting them into top form.
Foot note the rea rockets blood lines are responsible this yb season for 3 section winners & 4 EAA
winners pretty impressive, good for though over the winter months!
I can now confirm G McKenna is champion yb flyer
D&J Campbell champion O/B flyer
D&J Campbell champion combined O/B & Y/B
Well done folks on another bumper EAA season, and indeed to all our flying members!
The bonus ball is underway for y/bs donated by the above champions and selling fast!
The secretary is working away with plans for the end of season prize giving details to be announced
shortly, but I would ask for anyone interested in that event to make it know in the chat asap so we
can gauge numbers!
Thank you all very much for everyone who competed in another super super season for our
organisation!
