BALLYCLARE & DISTRICT & DOAGH & DISTRICT H.P.S. PRESENTATION NIGHT 2025
Ballyclare & District & Doagh & District H.P.S. had their annual joint annual Dinner & Prizegiving on
Friday the 2 nd of January in McConnell’s of Doagh. The Members accompanied by friends and family
gathered to celebrate their many achievements in what was another enjoyable season for all. Mr Jim
McCullough Vice chairman of Doagh was speaker and got the evening underway by welcoming
everyone to the annual prizegiving thanking all those who helped making it possible and the very
best of congratulations to all in 2025 Season. Also introducing the distinguished guests of the
evening Davy McElhone and Maddie McElhone of Eastway who are first class flyers. Afterwards
McConnell’s provided a beautiful 3 course meal with the selection of Vegetable Soup or Garlic
Mushrooms. Roast Beef or Turkey & Ham or Sirloin Steak Dinner and Pavlova or Apple Pie & Custard
for Desert along with Tea/Coffee. The Meal was enjoyed by all and next the Presentation of Awards
got underway with Arnold Thompson Superb fancier and newly crowned NIPA Plougastel OB
National Winner 2025 to present Doagh & District Prizes & Davy & Maddie McElhone Open and
multi award winning fanciers in 2025 presenting Ballyclare & Districts Prizes.
Ballyclare & District H.P.S. Trophy Winners 2025

A&T Agnew obtained 9 different silverwares. J. Robinson Cup – Most Points. McCrea Shield – Inland
Y.B. Derby. Sharples Cup – Longest Y.B. Race. Comrades Supporters Cup – Average Fermoy OB & YB.
T. Boyd Cup – Most Points Selected Races. Comrades Social Cup – Average Dale & Dunmanway. Y.B.
Magill Cup – Dale Y.B. National. And in the N.I.P.A. where 1 st Open Winners from Benamore YB
winning the J.P. O’Hagan Tyres Cup.
Higginson & Fasciolo won 2 pieces of silverware. McKeown Cup – Roscrea OB & YB. J. Hill Trophy –
OB Inland Average
A. Thompson Won 6 Club trophies in 2025. Baird Cup – Best average Bude, Penzance & Plougastel.
Blondel Cup – Cross Channel Average. Horner Cup – Lowest Winning Velocity. Derby Cup – Cross
Channel OB National. A. Agnew Trophy – Highest NIPA Open Velocity. The Mairs Trophy – Best
velocity Kings Cup locally. And in the N.I.P.A. Won the Plougastel OB National. And the Section C
Plougastel Trophy. Alos the joint winner of the 251-450 Miles Irish Region Mileage award.
W.R Moore picked up 6 trophies on the night. Strain Cup – National & Classic Races. R. Turkington
Cup – Cross Channel & National Races. Banford Shield – Bude. Ferguson Cup – OB Average. Vint Cup
– YB Average. Grange Cup - OB & YB Averages
G&R Lawrie won a total of 3 trophies – Dodds Cup – The OB Inland National. Greer Cup – Penzance
Classic. Montgomery Cup – Average in OB Dales
J&R Blair Where winners of the Blair Cup – Penzance Race

Doagh & District H.P.S. Trophy & Prize Winners 2025

Top Prize Winners 2025 in Doagh & District where Mr&Mrs McNeilly. The Husband & Wife racing
partnership had a successful season winning a total of 10x1sts. £216.50 in prizemoney and winning
11 trophies in the club. List as follows. Bell Trophy, Montgomery & Todd Rosebowl, W. Brown Cup,
Sammy Robinson Cup, C&D Smyth Irish Champion, Pattison Shield, Thomas Wilson Memorial Cup,
Martha Christie Shield, A&W Drennan Trophy.
Another top race partnership of Doagh was A&N Lewis 2 nd highest prize winners. The lads Won
5x1sts. £170.25 in prizemoney and winning 12 Trophies. List as follows. W. Hutchinson memorial
cup. J. McGrugan memorial cup. Ashe Trophy, Benny Craig Cup. Colin Agnew Cup, N. Logan memorial
shield, S. Lorimer memorial shield, Norman Rea memorial cup, J. Kincaid memorial shield, J.
Montgomery cup, R. Staveley memorial. And in the N.I.P.A. they won the W.E. Diamond Cup for Best
average Dale & Dunmanway YB Nationals. And the McKeown Cup for Winning the Dale YB National
D&S Suitters & Sons also had a very successful year in 2025 being 3 rd highest prize winners. Winning
1x1st. £145.50 in prizemoney and winning a total of 11 trophies. List as follows. Kane Cup, McGrugan
& Luke Cup, McAlmont Shield, McAdam memorial trophy, Catherwood Cup, McConnell Rosebowl,
Suitters Trophy, Mairs Trophy, DB Mairs Trophy, B. McCammond Cup, D. Suitters memorial trophy.
And in the N.I.P.A. Won the D. McNeilly Cup for Runner up in the Plougastel OB National.

D&R Turkington picked up 1x1sts £58.75 and winning 2 trophies the A. Bridges memorial cup and
the J. Gardner Cup.
6 th J&L McClean £42.50
7 th Wilson & McCullough picked up 1x1st £19.50 and winning the Crone Shield.

Well, done to all who helped organise the event with a great success and thanks to McConnell’s
hosting the great night. Everyone had a brilliant night celebrating everyone’s success.
