The Mid Ulster Federation lorry ready for the 2026 season ahead
An organisation created to make pigeon racing an enjoyable environment for its members and three Centres located in Bleary, Loughgall (Hogg’s) and Armagh. to date the membership stands at 100+ members and with birds priced at (50p per bird) this will grow membership more. Massive thank you to all our sponsors for the coming season, the amount of support we have had is overwhelming this will only make the Mid Ulster fed a force to be reckoned. First race is planned for this Saturday the 18th April (weather permitting) a further update will be posted in the coming days with confirmation of marking stations times. ULSTER FEDERATION SET FOR SEASON OPENER
The Ulster Federation will hamper birds tomorrow evening in preparation for a potential opening race from Tullamore on Saturday, signallin the long-awaited start of the new racing season. Fanciers across the federation are putting the finishing touches to their teams, with lofts buzzing in anticipation of the first competitive test of the year. Early season form is always closely watched, and a strong performance this weekend could set the tone for the weeks ahead. Members are hopeful for a safe and successful race, with the usual mix of excitement and nerves building as basketing night approaches. The NIPA ‘s 2026 season opening race will be flown from Kilbeggan .Racemarking will take place on Friday 17th for a possible release on Saturday. Winds are to be forecast to be Northwest. Hoping everyone has an enjoyable and successful season.
EDC Update - The EDC will hamper as scheduled tomorrow night (Friday) for this weeks race from 2nd Kilbeggan.
Saturday 18th April 2026
NIPA Update - The race controller has stated he is looking at a liberation between 9.30 & 10 .The convoy of 10000 + birds are sitting in full sunshine winds are light westerly. I will update with confirmation of a liberation when I receive word.
Ulster federation are in Tullamore we are hoping for a lib around 9.30am.
East Coast Fed (Dublin) - 8am liberation Pilmore Beach.
The EDC have liberated in Kilbeggan at 9.00am in a Westerly Wind.
The NIPA have released in Kilbeggan at 9.30 in a 10mph North West wind visibility was excellent.
Ulster federation have let go at 10am in Tullamore.
The Mid Ulster Fed will collect birds tonight for liberation tomorrow Sunday in Gowran Park.

Mid Ulster racing federation race update. Morning folks we are in gowran park. it’s a nice morning at the point driver has the birds settled and all waters done. We are looking at a 10 o’clock release in a light northerly wind we will update you near the time. Ken.
