An outstanding team performance against 1,758 pigeons competing across the federation and another excellent example of the strong competition currently being seen within Hoggis centre.
Stevie paid special thanks to Phillip Boyd for gifting him both his 1st and 3rd Hoggis pigeons, with GB24A41471 already proving itself as a top-class pigeon after previously winning:
Stevie also thanked his father for breeding his 2nd Hoggis and 4th Open Federation pigeon.
Speaking after the race, Stevie said:
“Very big thanks to both these men for supplying me with great pigeons. It is with great pleasure achieving results with such a brilliant organisation, with special thanks to everyone involved in making this organisation such a success. Very special thanks to the men involved in the care of our pigeons at the race point as we have had another fantastic race with the pigeons looking very well on arrival. Well done to all.” A fantastic performance and great sportsmanship shown throughout.
MIDWEEK PERFORMANCE FEATURE – LEE SMYTH (MEADOWS)
A standout performance in Meadows centre from the recent Gowran Park 2 race came from Lee Smyth, whose blue cock GB25V51286 won 1st Meadows Centre and 23rd Open Mid Ulster Federation against 1,758 birds.
The blue cock is the reward of a patient inbreeding plan centred around Ronnie Williamson bloodlines. He is a double grandson of a double grandson of Ronnie Williamson’s outstanding “Millennium Superstar” — winner of 3 x 1st Open NIPA.
The double grandson of Millennium Superstar was obtained from Martin and Graham Hughes of Glasgow, who had purchased both the son and daughter of Millennium Superstar directly from Ronnie Williamson.
The cock had already shown his quality as a youngster, previously recording:
GB25V51286 trapped alongside loftmate GB25V51294 to complete a one-two finish at Meadows centre.
51294 is also bred entirely from Ronnie Williamson bloodlines, inbred to “Champion White Nose” through a daughter of the famous Pencil Cock, twice 2nd Open NIPA.
As a youngster, 51294 also performed with distinction, recording:
A tremendous performance from Lee Smyth and another excellent example of quality pigeons competing throughout the Mid Ulster Federation
