In 1988 Ronnie was 9th & 37th Open NIPA OB Dinard Derby and the following year 2nd & 28th Open with the same two hens. The Blue Chequer hen Impeccable Lady won 2nd & 9th Open plus £2,300, big money 20 years ago. My favourite Williamson pigeon has to be Five Times A Lady, this Blue Chequer hen was the winner of the INFC Hall of Fame Diploma, and a Gold Medal. Her National record, 22nd Open Kings Cup 1989, 126th Open 1992, 113th Open 1993, 147th Open 1994, all from Rennes. In 1990 she missed the Open result by two minutes.
Ronnie's top pigeon would have to be the famous Heart Breaker. His race record, are you ready for it - 1st Open NIPA 21,500 birds; 3rd Open NIPA 14,500 birds; 4th Open NIPA 23,500 birds; 6th Open NIPA 4,500 birds; 7th Open NIPA 23,000 birds; 9th Open NIPA 22,000 birds; 16th Open NIPA 21,500 birds. All these positions over two seasons. A champion racer that went on to breed the Blue Chequer w/f cock Ron-Ville West Tip 1st Open NIPA Skibbereen YB Derby. In 1992 the Williamson loft won 1st Section, 1st Open NIPA OB Derby with Leading Lady.
Ronnie Williamson has won most of the major awards during his career, the only one still missing from his CV is the winning of the Kings Cup. In 1999 Ronnie was 1st North Section, 2nd Open Kings Cup Redon beaten by 0.4ypm by Oliver McGillivery & Son Balbriggan. Irish Rover.
