PIGEON FOR SALE went live on line on Monday 10th January and it showed 180 pigeons that had not been “ACTIVATED” (paid for) by their owners. These could now be purchased for US$1,000 (approx. £667) on a first come, first served basis and whoever purchased them could have them entered in their name or syndicate name for the Final Race and whatever these pigeons won in the Final Race, one hundred per cent of the winnings would be theirs and with 300 top cash prizes on offer, this really does represent a really great opportunity for anybody to have a little gamble on this race. What always amazes me is that fanciers send these pigeons out to compete in the Final Race and then do not have the confidence to purchase them after they have flown 20 races and are still in the lofts when over 4,000 have already been lost. The first day this list went on nearly 70 of these pigeons were sold to “Punters”. Another 110 are still to be sold and these will be sold over the next few days before the race takes place. Up to Friday 14th January quite a few had been sold, leaving just 58 still to be sold and by Monday morning only 43 pigeons remained unsold. A few more days for people to purchase these. So at this stage it looks like all the pigeons will be entered, which really is great news because if they are good enough to still be in the lofts, they must be good enough to compete for the massive prize fund. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT HAVE TAKEN A CHANCE AND HAD A GAMBLE IN THIS FINAL RACE.
GOOD LUCK to all concerned in TRAINING RACE 18, which takes place on Wednesday 19th January from 80km (50 miles), followed by the FINAL RACE on Saturday 22nd January from 560km (348 miles) back to Sun City. I hope that I have to telephone somebody in the UK on Saturday congratulating them of their success in the biggest international one loft race in the world today. Of course my International Press Releases on these two races will be published on my return from South Africa.
