Rasharkin & District HPS held their annual dinner and presentation for 2011 in the Angler’s Rest. A large turnout of 86 member’s friends and guests enjoyed a great night hosted by compere for the night club chairman Harold Cubitt. After another successful season the club had five members win Mid Antrim diplomas. The cups and awards were presented by Monty and Daniel Magill of New Antrim Amalgamated and Bertie Blair of Ballymena & District.
The top winners were as follows. Milliken & Barkley who won: 1st Club, 1st Mid Antrim & 1st Section B in Talbenny, Old Bird National NIPA, Old Bird Inland Average, Young Bird Inland National NIPA, Young Bird Average, Best Average 2 Young Bird Nationals, Young Bird NOM, Mamie Simpson Memorial & Highest Prize Winner.
Harold Cubitt won: 1st Club, 1st Mid Antrim Combine Tullamore and Young Bird Knockout, Young Bird Channel National NIPA, and Young Bird of the Year.
A C & Tweed won: Old Bird Knockout, James McFetridge Memorial Sprint Cup, John & Mary Jane Dunlop Memorial Cup Penzance, Old Bird National St.Malo NIPA, Old Bird Channel Average, and Old Bird of the Year.
J & M Milliken won: 1st Club, 1st Mid Antrim Combine Clonmel, INFC Yearling National Sennen Cove & Kings Cup Plaudren INFC with the same bird, and NIPA Young Bird National. James Robinson won: 1st Club, 2nd Section B, & 1st Mid Antrim Combine Fermoy 5 Bird Old Bird.
After the presentation Harold Cubitt thanked the Anglers Rest for a superb meal and the clubs faithful sponsors which were, Noel Twaddle Contracts (Ballymoney), Leck N.I Ltd (Ballymoney), B.R.S Cars (Cullybackey), J.F Car Sales (Ballymoney) & Greer’s Of Antrim Volvo (Antrim), also Angus Dunlop for a new cup in memory of his father and mother John and Mary Jane Dunlop. The rest of the evening was enjoyed by all, dancing to music by Beezer and the members are looking forward to the next season being even better than the one just finished.
