Flying into the NW - Rosscarbery/Roscrea 20/05/12

A fantastic weekends racing into Derry from both Roscarberry and Roscrea, but surely the fly of the weekend was Pat Mc Laughlin’s Open winner from Roscrea. Pat I believe was second Open last year from the same race point, but goes one better this time and lifts the top prize. So once again, congratulations to Pat on his Open winner, a great advertisement for the sport in the town.

There are a lot of results to cover this week with the two races taking place, so we will cover them as best we can as not all results were at hand when writing up the report. We will have to start this week with the Maiden City where we have our Open winner. The results for Roscrea were 1st, 3rd and 5th, Pat Mc Laughlin on 1649, 1545, and 1517, 2nd P + M Healy 1570, 4th Dunne + Quigley 1532.
From the Roscarberry National the results were 1st and 4th Quigley + Dunne 1495, 1433, 2nd and 3rd Pat Mc Laughlin 1491, 1485, 5th P + M Healy 1428.

In the Derry and District this week we have a possible second Open spot for Maxi Chism. The full results for the Derry and District were from Roscrea, 1st M + C Chism 1642, 2nd and 3rd Anthony Mc Crudden 1580,1579, 4th Danny Canning 1563, 5th Cooley Bros 1561.

From the Roscarberry National race, the results for the Derry and District were, 1st Eddie Mc Eleney 1415, 2nd Kevin Payne 1400, 3rd and 5th Jim and Gary Ramsey 1339,1316, 4th Anthony Mc Crudden 1338.
Next up we have the Limavady club, where Ronnie Whiterow makes it a double, taking first in both the Roscrea and the Roscarberry National races. The full results then were as follows. From Roscrea, 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th, Ronnie Whiterow 1589,1515,1500,1495, 5th Willie Mc Ilmoyle 1462.
From the Roscarberry National, 1st, 3rd and 5th Ronnie Whiterow 1439, 1408, 1337, 2nd Willie Mc Ilmoyle 1439, 4th John Mc Cool 1367.

On then to the Londonderry club were details are a bit sketchy as no one seems to be posting full results for them. What I have at the moment is, from Roscrea, 1st and 2nd Noel Murray 1536, 1534, 3rd and 4th Donal Kelly 1519, 1490, and 5th Leo Flannagan 1461. This I think is Noel’s fifth win in six weeks.
From the Roscarberry National 1st Toby + Martin Gallagher 1481, 2nd J + D Kelly 1325.
Next, the Rock were again the results are a bit sketchy with no results posted. From Roscrea, Eamon Quigley takes 1st and 2nd on 1582, 1533.

From the Roscarberry National race, 1st Fox and Hegarty 1438, 2nd Tommy White 1431, 3rd and 4th Eamon Quigley 1375, 1342.
On then to the Foyle club were from the Roscarberry National race, the result looks like this, 1st Barry Harte 1425, 2nd James Gallagher 1389, 3rd and 4th Paul Maxwell 1358,1351, 5th John Mc Laughlin 1350.
From the Roscrea race, the result was, 1st Hugh Mc Gowan 1595, 2nd Paul Maxwell 1500, 3rd Jim Diamond 1490, 4th Mark Fahy 1485, 5th Jim Campbell 1483.

Next up we go to Strabane were we have the following results. From Roscrea, 1st D Farrell 1558, 2nd Glenn Quinn 1542, 3rd, 4th and 5th Tony Conway 1535, 1535, 1529.
From the Roscarberry National race, the result was, 1st, 2nd and 5th Glenn Quinn 1451, 1440, 1378, 3rd T Mc Bride 1388, 4th T Conway 1378.

Last but not least this week is the Omagh club, were the results were. From Roscrea, 1st Tony Booth 1580, 2nd and 3rd Alan Kelly 1553, 1520, 4th and 5th Alan Hall 1498, 1498.
From the Roscarberry National race, the results were 1st and 4th K Armstrong 1493, 1441, 2nd Alan Hall 1468, 3rd and 5th Tony Booth 1442, 1436.
