At the weekend the NIPA arranged two races, the annual Inland National from Rosscarbery in County Cork and a comeback race from Roscrea in County Tipperary. Good returns were reported from both races, and well done to the winners. Doonan & McGuinness from Dromore took 1st & 2nd Open Rosscarbery plus £2,000 and Hanson & Harpur from Coleraine Premier had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Open from Roscrea.

The Rosscarbery OB Inland Nat was flown last weekend, birds made light work of the 260 odd miles from County Cork. Steele & McNeill timed “Champion 02” to win 1st MAC and 1st in the NIPA Section B. He was followed by Alan Darragh who had a super card with the Top 6 in Cullybackey, other top winners included Percy Son & Murphy 1st Randalstown (1558), Paddy McManus 1st Ahoghill (1552) and Jimmy Scott 1st Kells & Dist (1550).

Money and entry fees for Sennen Cove Classic lifted at Cullybackey Clubrooms on Tuesday 2nd June 8.30 to 9.30pm. Birds will be race marked in Cullybackey Thursday 4th June 4.00 to 5.30pm, clocks ready after lorry leaves clubroom.

Last weekend the NIPA had two races in Ireland, the highly popular Inland OB Nat was flown from Rosscarbery in County Cork while the comeback race was flown from Roscrea. Both races were good with excellent returns, it has been a great season to date. From Rosscarbery the best local birds were again in East Antrim, A & E Bell had two birds ahead of John White. The Percy & Murphy team with the best two birds in Randalstown were well placed in the MAC and Davy Scott won both races in Kells & District.

Local lofts win 1st Section in NIPA – Jimmy Hanson 1st, 2nd & 3rd Open!

At the weekend the NIPA arranged two races and both turned out very successful, especially for local area lofts. The OB Inland Nat was flown from Rosscarbery in Co Cork and Steele & McNeill from Rasharkin & Dist topped MAC and had 1st Sect B in the NIPA clocking their good Dark Cheq (c) “Champion 02” which had now collected 7 x individual 1sts. In this race A & M Boyle from Ballymoney were best in the Coleraine Centre while D Coyles & Son topped Coleraine Triangle.

The Comeback race was flown from Roscrea, well done to Jimmy Hanson of the Coleraine Premier taking a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Nipa Open from Rosscrea at the weekend. Winning bird is a yearling roundabout hen and is a grand-daughter off Suarez a RPRA Award winner for Danny Dixon, this hen mated to a Liverpool Jacobs also bred by Danny. Derek McMullan from Ballymoney took 1st in the NIPA Section B making it a super weekend for local lofts.
