The NIPA was founded in 1945 and it's membership was open to all members within Northern Ireland - We are one of the largest weekly convoying organisations in the UK. Presently we have approx. 100 clubs as members, with over 2,000 members. Birds competing each week can reach 25 to 30 thousand, depending on the race. The race programme starts in Ireland down to Rosscarbery and continues through Wales & England to Penzance, and the Premier OB Nat flown from St Malo (France). Website www.nipapigeons.co.uk

Rosscarbery in Co Cork was the decision of the NIPA Committee for the race in Ireland on the same day as the OB Classic, favourite win 1st Open is the loft of P & J Boal from Dromore and I hear this same bird won 1st Open earlier in the year from Corrin with 26,000 birds competing. P & J Boal - Dromore - 1st Open NIPA Rosscarbery winners. Their latest top performer is GB13D 02033 Blue hen, Willy Van Herck, raced on widowhood. Sire: Young Bogaerts, one of their best racing cocks, 4th open and 7th open NIPA, a section winner.
