New Bude race delayed -

Due to a poor weather forecast race marking for Bude was delayed until Saturday which caused a bit of confusion for the local clubs with birds returning from the Yearling Nat Rosscarbery at the same time. Birds were released on Monday 15th June at 9.00am in a south east wind at a new site in Bude. Early birds as usual made good time with Stewart Bros of Randalstown having two arrivals close together to collect 1st & 2nd in MAC and 2nd & 3rd Sect B. The winner recording velocity 1523 finished 21st Open NIPA with just short of 6,000 birds competing. Other winners well placed included Harold Cubitt 1st Rasharkin & Dist (1499), George Connolly best in Ballymena (1498), Jack Millar & Son 1st Kells & Dist (1496), Mr & Mrs Robinson 1st Ahoghill (1493), and Tom Picken 1st Cullybackey (1484). Many thanks to Harryville who assisted one Ballymena member who failed to get the text message regarding the change of race marking.

Frank Todd from Muckamore wins 1st Sect Bude -

Best in the Antrim Area from New Bude was Frank Todd from the Muckamore HPS who recorded velocity 1542 in the race flown on Monday 15th June having been delayed due to the weather on the channel. Frank is usually to the fore in these races and has done well over the last number of years. This time he takes 1st in Section B and a good 10th Open NIPA 601/5744. Stewart Bros from Randalstown had two early arrivals and will be well pleased with 1st & 2nd in Mid Antrim Combine and through to the final of the Champions League.
