Obituary - Norman Black

Norman Black.
It is my sad duty to report the death of Norman the senior partner of N. Black & Son of Dromara and father of our highly regarded vice president and chairman David on Sunday 10th January after a short spell in hospital.
Norman had bravely battled illness for the past eight years and during that time was looked after by his family at home. Norman and David started the now famous Drumiller Hill lofts in the early eighties and from the start their interest was the races from France. Many top positions and awards have been won over the years, the winning of the King\'s Cup in 1996 from Rennes with Drumiller Hill lad being the highlight of many successful seasons. All of the Black family were involved in and around the lofts and played their part in the performances achieved.
Norman\'s other interest was horses and in particular show jumping and was noted for his eye to spot a good one in the sales ring.
The family should be commended for looking after Norman and made many sacrifices to keep him at home during his illness.
