The Coleraine Premier HPS held their 2015 prize night in the club rooms with a good turn-out of members. Club members Big Lugsy and wee Rab done all the cooking and what a great job they did.

After everyone had been fed and watered and listening to conversations it was down to the presentations of the prizes.

Club member Anthony McDonnell took to the floor and gave an excellent account of some super performances put up by the members racing in the mighty NIPA.

Firstly we had the Hanson & Harpur team taking the top three places in the NIPA Roscrea then the following week Hanson and Harpur made it two big open wins from Talbenny in South Wales with the father and son partnership of Danny Coyle and son in second open. The third open win in the club was taken by the super loft and top prize winner in the club for 2015 Leslie Madden. In this particular race in the young bird program the club took the top sixteen places in the NIPA Open result with Leslie Madden taking the top seven places.

Another top performance in the club was the magnificent partnership of Diamond Brothers winning the RPRA (Irish Region) Award for Section A.

On to the prizes for the 2015 season, where we start with the old birds.

Top prize winner was Leslie Madden winning 8x1st also Champion Old Bird.

Hanson and Harper won 6x1st also Old bird Channel average and Young Bird average including Talbenny.

A loft that really came to the fore this year is that of Danny and Bobby Coyle’s winning 3x1st. They won the Old Bird Combined average, Old Bird Inland average, Old Bird combined average for Old bird and Young bird, Cross Channel average with St Malo, Best average 1st and 3rd Channel Races. Super season racing by this team.

T+J McDonald won 6x1st also Champion Young Bird and Young Bird inland average.

Leslie and Trevor dominated the young bird program with some excellent flying with T +J McDonald coming out trumps right at the last race. Great racing indeed.

L + R Hanson won the Kings Cup race from St Allouestre in the club with Stephen Walker winning the St Malo OB Nat race.

Other winners were Kenny Darragh winning the Fermoy 5 Bird and Anthony McDonnell winning the 1st Section from Roscrea.

Diamond Brothers won the Yearling Hen Nat race along with the Irish Region Award for Section A in old birds. In closing I\\\\\\\'d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas. The club look forward to more super racing in 2016. Jimmy McSeveney.

Young Fancier success at Blackpool -

Young Keele Wright from Lurgan attended the Ballymena & Dist Open Show along with Dad Eamon and Grandad who were judging at the event, she had her photo taken with the group. I see over the weekend she had great success at Blackpool winning the following, a big future ahead here. 1st Class 34, 1st Young Fancier Racing Pigeon, 1st Young Fancier best Overall Bird, 2nd 300 miles Old Cock, 3rd 200 miles Old Hen, 7th Young Fancier likeliest Cock Racer, 8th Young Fancier likeliest Hen Racer. Winner is a Van Wildemeersch from good friend Kevin Henderson. Well done as well to W & N Gilbert from the Ballymena & District, although not winning a class brought a few cards back home. They dominated in the local club in the show season and have plans for a better team next time.

The AGM for Ballymena & District will take place in the local clubrooms at Fountain Place on Monday 8th February at 8.00pm. Resolutions for the agenda must be with the Secretary Willie Reynolds by Saturday 30th January, and any resignations prior to the AGM. The NIPA Annual Meeting is set for Glenavy on Saturday 13th February at 2.00pm, the INFC Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday 27th February. Ronnie Johnston has tendered his resignation as Patron.
