BRICON UK offers rewards totaling £300 for information that leads to the return of three stolen Bricon clocks and the successful prosecution of the thieves.
The clocks were taken from the Bricon stand at the Blackpool Show 2016.
The following three clocks were stolen and on each we are offering a £100 reward.
The new blue SPEEDY X-TREME clock - serial number SPX-A0002 (stolen on Saturday)
The new blue SPEEDY X-TREME clock - serial number SPX-A0003 (stolen on Saturday)
The original SPEEDY clock - serial number SPD-G5776 (stolen on Sunday).
If you are offered a clock with one of these serial numbers, please contact us.
The serial number of a Bricon clock appears on the printed basketing list and clocking list. May I therefore ask club and fed secretaries to look out for these clock numbers when racing recommences. You can do the right thing whilst earning a nice reward.

THIS IS A COPY OF THE LETTER TO THE EDITOR THAT WILL APPEAR IN THE NEXT EDITION OF THE BHW.
NB: The Speedy clock has been confirmed as stolen since the letter was written.
Dear Sir,
STOLEN - 2 x SPEEDY X-TREME CLOCKS - SPX A-0002 and SPX-A0003
The Blackpool Show was a highly successful weekend for Bricon, with throngs of customers keen and eager to purchase electronic timing systems, additional equipment and rings. Numbers seem to increase each year and we would like to thank everyone for their patience as we did our best to serve as quickly as possible.
The downside of the weekend however was that like other stands at the show we were subjected to targeted theft which each year hits the stand holders hard in the pocket. Among the items stolen from our Bricon stand was two of the newly launched Speedy X-treme timing clocks which are quite distinctive as the new blue version of the well known Speedy. The clock was only launched in November and although many have already been purchased by fanciers in the UK it is quite clear that few if any would have yet reached the second hand market, so at this time it is highly likely that if a Speedy X-treme clock is offered for sale by anyone other than Bricon UK then it is most probably one of these stolen clocks. The clocks stolen have very distinctive serial numbers - SPX-A0002 and SPX-A0003 - which can be found both on the back of the clock and on its display. Unscrupulous thieves each year hit the stands at Blackpool hard, and for us like most traders the financial loss incurred comes straight out of our own pocket as insurance cover is not an option.
If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of these blue Bricon Speedy X-treme clocks, may I ask that contact is made with myself as a reward will be given if the clocks are recovered and a prosecution is made. Please do not be tempted to buy one of these stolen clocks, as not only will you be encouraging thieving at the Blackpool show which hits the show hard, but as the serial number of the clock is printed on every race basketing print out you will soon be found out.
Regards
Mark Palmer
