Fast race from Corrin on Friday – Paddy McManus 1st MAC

Last weekend the race from Corrin was brought forward due to the weather, race marking was Thursday evening with the birds released in Corrin on Friday 9th June at 9.30am in a helping Southwest wind. Sam Maginty from Muckamore on a best ever season was 1st Sect doing velocity 1713 and best in Mid Antrim Combine was Paddy McManus from Ahoghill timing at 13.04hrs flying 205 miles. Surgenor Bros win for the fifth time in Kells with the old birds while in Randalstown the Dickey Family continue to dominate, this week’s winner is the nest-mate of the bird that was 2nd Sect & 11th Open last week in Bude.

Early birds in Ballymoney & Coleraine -

Corrin was flown last Friday having been brought forward due to poor weather forecast over the weekend, liberation was at 9.30am in a helping Southwest wind. Best birds locally were timed in Ballymoney with J McDowell & Sons two birds together winning 1st & 2nd doing velocity 1705 and also best in Ballymoney West Combine. The winner a yearling Black hen was timed at 13.14hrs flying 217 miles finishing a good 2nd & 4th in Section B. It was a really close finish in Coleraine with the leading birds both recording velocity 1659, Diamond Bros & G McLaughlin in the Coleraine Premier had 1st Coleraine Triangle and next best was Terence McCrudden who was 1st in the County Derry. Andy & Mavis Boyle had the top two places in the Windsor Social.
