Antrim Area Update – McConville Bros of Crumlin 1st Sect B

Dunmanway was flown last weekend for the first time by the NIPA, it was the alternative point used when Bude was not available and a different cross channel event could not be arranged at short notice. The weather conditions were poor anyway and even the liberations in Dunmanway were delayed on Sunday. The big early bird locally was timed in Crumlin & District by McConville Bros recording velocity 1798 to finish 1st Sect B & 4th Open in the NIPA 555/8243. Stewart Bros from Randalstown finished runner-up in the MAC behind Jimmy Rock.

City of Derry Dunmanway won by M Rabbett -

With the cross channel racing from Bude cancelled due to the weather, the NIPA decided to race Inland this weekend and try out the new race point Dunmanway at a rough distance to most in the town at 239 miles. Racing the previous few weeks had turned out hard enough races, and the weekend race from Dunmanway certainly wasn't an easy one either. Taking the top spot this week by over 100ypm in front of the rest of the convoy was Mickey Rabbett from the Amelia Earhart. Well done to all who clocked and all the winners in the respective clubs.

City of Derry Dunmanway - M Rabbett Amelia Earhart 1575, Paul Maxwell Foyle 1465, John Healy Amelia Earhart 1419, Coyle Bros Maiden City 1413, Paul Maxwell Foyle 1413, J & G Ramsey Derry & District 1390, Billy Page Foyle 1367, M Rabbett Amelia Earhart 1350, Leo Flanagan & Son Londonderry 1347, William McCloskey Amelia Earhart 1343, Sean Malone Foyle 1339, Sean Malone Foyle 1320, R & G Martin Maiden City 1318, Paul Maxwell Foyle 1297, R & G Martin Maiden City 1253, Paul Maxwell Foyle 1227, Leo Flanagan & Son Londonderry 1223, Paul Maxwell Foyle 1189, Danny Canning Derry & District 1181, Paul Maxwell Foyle 1179.

City of Derry Combine Averages Update

Going into the penultimate week of racing and having two race points on the cards, its seems that the inform loft of Paul Maxwell in the Foyle RPS is going to be very hard pushed in order to be beaten for the overall Old Bird Averages in the combined club result. In the lead by over 53 points, it certainly is achievable and every race is different. We did think this would go down to the wire, so if the other guys can pull a few good positions out in the two races next week, St Malo/Brest could leave it hanging in the balance. Great flying in the town each week by the leaders, someone must step up to the mark and give Paul a run for his money, I'm too far behind to even attempt it lol. M Rabbett PO.

The Top 20 to date is as follows: Paul Maxwell Foyle 294, J & G Ramsey Derry & District 241, Leo Flanagan Londonderry 234, Anthony McCrudden Derry & District 181, M Rabbett Amelia Earhart 126, Billy Houston Londonderry 111, Rory Gallagher Derry & District 103, R & G Martin Maiden City 86, Sean Malone Foyle 86, John McLaughlin Amelia Earhart 85, Eamonn Quigley Amelia Earhart 77, William McCloskey Amelia Earhart 75, Concannon Bros Maiden City 63, Cooley Bros Derry & District 62, P & M Healy Maiden City 61, Billy Page Foyle 55, Mickey Jones Derry & District 52, M Fahy Derry & District 50, Danny Canning Derry & District 49, Mickey Coyle Maiden City 47.
