A&N LEWIS TOP THE CHANNEL YB NATIONAL
The Channel National YB Race and Inland Grenagh Race was up for grabs this week for the members
of the N.I.PA. In this Report is the annual Dale Channel YB National from Dale in South Wales. A total
of 217 Members sent 1,888 Birds across the Channel. The Birds were liberated at 8:30AM in a
West/South West Wind at the liberation point.
JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
The Winning Bird from the Channel National Youngbird Race belongs to A&N Lewis of Doagh &
District H.P.S in Section C.
Anthony & Norman’s 1 st Dale National Winner GB25 D 22596 flew a total of 211 miles in 4hrs 2mins
and 21secs clocking in a velocity of 1247yds. The Sire is bred from a pair off Fred Simpson of Doagh.
Dam is off 9 th Open Scheele Cock and daughter Alan Darraghs Yearling National Winner.
Many Congratulations to Anthony & Norman Lewis on claiming 1 st N.I.P.A. National from Dale from
1,888 Birds.

The Winner of Section C (43/348) from Dale was A&N Lewis of Doagh & District H.P.S. (See opening
report for more information) The Lewis lads had the best outcome from Dale taking home 1 st Prize
winners in Section C (348 Birds) with a result of 1 st National (1,888 Birds)

Always a pleasure to report on national day and as previously mentioned the winners of the EAA
with a superb pigeon are A&N Lewis
Of Doagh, no strangers to the big occasion and this was no different winning the Dale y/b national in
some style
Details of the champ are
Blue hen raced on the sliding door system.
Sire is off a pair off Fred Simpson birds
Dam is off our 9th open scheele cock bred by cockcrow lofts when paired to a daughter off Alan
Darragh’s yearling nat winner.
Big congratulations to you guys on what has been a very testing yb season!
As we go into the final nipa race this weekend it’s worth mentioning there are still a couple of lofts in
the running for champion yb fancier of the year, what will the next race bring who knows?
From a personal view the standard of results in the EAA has been top drawer, section winners, open
winners & National winners, what more could you ask for?

The Winner of Section D (24/176) from Dale was O&M Monaghan of Colin H.P.S. Owen & Michael
Win another Section D in succession (176 Birds) with a finish of 12 th N.I.P.A. Open (1,888 Birds). This
Section Winner GB25 C 31394 is a blue cock. Sire is a Mysterio bird from Dave Atkin and Dam is from
their good friend Clyde Rollins of Hills & Maze from his number one stock hen. Responsible for
around 10 Section Winners. This cock was also 10 th Open, 4 th Section a week later from Dunmanway.

The Winner of Section F (13/74) from Dale was F. Black & Son of Downpatrick Premier H.P.S. The
Downpatrick flyer are Winners of 1 st Section F from the Channel (74 Birds)

The Winner of Section G (21/215) from Dale was Noel Murtagh of Millvale H.P.S. Noel pictured
proudly displaying his Dale Section G Winning pigeon. 1 st Club, 1 st Newry Centre, 1 st Section G (215
Birds) 7 th N.I.P.A. National (1,88 Birds) also Noel was the Winner of the Kildress Dale Sponsorship
nomination from Dale Winning £250.
