JOURNEY’S END – NIPA RACE REPORTS – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
PENZANCE DOUBLE SUCCESS FOR THE MCCABES
As we draw even nearer to a close to the OB season up next in the annual Penzance & Classic Race
across the channel. The Classic Race is the annual 20 Bird limit nomination race held within the
overall Penzance race where fanciers can send with no limitations. A total of 381 NIPA Members
sent 4,539 Birds to Penzance in Cornwall, England with 209 NIPA members nominating 1,971 birds in
the Penzance Classic Race. Saturday morning the 20 th of June the birds were liberated at 10:45hrs in
Light variable Winds.
The winning bird from both Penzance & Penzance Yearling Inland National belongs to J F McCabe &
Son of Newry & District HPS in Section G.
A Terrific result for the McCabe’s of Newry adding a double Open Win from both races in the
Penzance and Classic. The Penzance & Classic 1 st Open winning pigeon had a velocity of
1425.159YPM GB25 A 62005 is bred from their top breeding gson of De Jan bred by Wayne Doonan.
The dam is Black Lilly, the best breeding dtr of the partnership’s no.1 pair This season this hen has
previously achieved NIPA 1st Dale 2nd section 33rd open 10,790. NIPA 2nd Dale 8th section 39th
open 5,590. NIPA Bude 19th section 63rd open 4,742 birds

The Winner of Section D (44/619) from Penzance & Penzance Classic (28/302) was P&J Boal of
Dromore HPS. Philip continued his winning ways for the season adding another 2 sections wins. And
a terrific result in the Open results achieved 2 nd Open in Penzance (4,539 birds) and 2 nd Open in the
Classic (1,971 birds) GB23 D 01284 is a very consistent hen, raced many top prizes over 3 years,
2x1st Dromore HPS. From a direct Buck De Kriuyf cock thanks to Stuart Fascett. Dam a Willy Van
Herck, herself winner of 1x1st & 2x 2 nd Sections. Again, raced on the chaos system.
