Mid Antrim Combine - NIPA Cloughmartin 20/06/26

The Nipa were in Cloughmartin in County Tipperary on Saturday 20th June. Birds were released at 9.00am in light westerly winds.

Gary Gibson of Cullybackey who is having an excellent season was best in the Mid Antrim Combine and also 1st Section B on 1611. Gary timed is double Mid Antrim Combine winner from the previous weeks race from Dunmanway and the Yearling National. The sire is a son of the 'Golden Couple' and dam is his good Van Den Brande hen from DCP McArdle. In the last three races the hen has won 8th Section Fermoy, 2nd Section Dunmanway, 2nd Section Dunmanway Yearling National and 1st Section Cloughmartin .

Danny Dixon took the runner up spot in the Combine and Section on 1609. Danny timed his Dunmanway winner from last weekend. Grandson of 'Heartbreaker' on one side and a grandson of his Aviary cock on the other when paired to his good Jos Cools hen. Ballymena & District winners Johnston Eagleson & Sons were 3rd Combine & 3rd Section with their 2yo red hen that hes been placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 10th Combine and 2nd, 3rd, 3rd & 16th Section plus 19th Open NIPA Fermoy 5 Bird this season. Sire was a gift cock from Paddy & William McManus being a Gert Heylen grandson of Jackpot when he was paired to a daughter of Danny Dixon's 'Champion Heartbreaker' and the dam is a self bred Van den bulck. Harold Cubitt won Rasharkin on 1562 with one from a kit of youngsters from Gerald Delaney. Jimmy Smyth & Son took the red card in Ahoghill on 1554. Geoff Surgenor best in Kells on 1548 and Marc Neilly best in Broughshane on 1540 with a cheq pied widowhood cock winning Broughshane for the third time. Sire Leo Van Rijn x Lambrecht from Bertie Blair and dam Sticker doncker x Lambrecht.
