The NIPA Sect Fancier of the Year is a big competition each season, all the top lofts look forward to collecting points in this competition over the entire season.

Each week the big competition is to top the NIPA Open Result, getting close is not good enough only one loft can win 1st Open and this can be up to 30,000 birds competing. In the past some lofts have made it look easy, the late B Fletcher & Son had great success followed by Ron Williamson now over 50 x 1st Open NIPA and catching up fast the Donnelly Bros from Newry City who won 6 x 1sts in 2010 and almost won the final race from Rosscarbery but for a stopped clock.
