A great win for the hard working partnership of Mr & Mrs Sempey who timed a late-bred yearling cock on Roundabout at 12.19pm recording a velocity of 1698 for 182 miles. With a record entry of 426 birds for the Bmena & Dist club. The breeding is Willy Jacobs, the partnership have been flying very consistent since the start of the season. Congratulations on your deserved win. The McAlonan transporter is paying off!!! Best birthday wishes to Old Hand Charlie McManus. On a sadder note the members extend their sympathy to the family of Billy Rankin, racing partner with Bertie Blair who is married to Billy’s sister Doreen. All the Rankin Family raced at various times, mostly with Harryville, they scored some fantastic results inc. 2nd Open in the Penzance YB Nat. They were next door neighbours and it was through them we first got involved with the birds, long time back.
