For race four of the young bird season the local birds were in Roscrea in County Tipperary, liberation was at 9.00am in a helping South, South West wind. Change of race point but no change to result, the best local bird as the week previous was timed by Jeff  Surgenor of the Kells & Dist HPS. He timed at 11.29am to record velocity 1726 for the 146 miles, to take 1st Combine, 1st Sect B and a good 19th Open NIPA where 24,500 birds were competing. This latest winner is the nest-mate of last week’s 1st MAC Tullamore, breeding is Hartog & Busschaert. Kells & Dist had the best local birds, runner up a second bird for Surgenor Bros, followed by Harry Boyd and George McDowell. Mr & Mrs Sempey had the best bird in the town for 1st Ballymena & Dist (1667) and Lexie Mullan had 1st Harryville (1658).
